We have multiple volunteer positions available.  Feel free to match them with your skill and experience and apply for the one that best suits you.

Volunteer Eligibility:

  • Must be 18 and over

  • Must be away from your Domestic Violence relationship/situation for at least 1 year.

  • Be prepared to work with individuals of all genders, backgrounds and religious preferences

  • Understand and support the mission and vision of Stand Up Survivor

We LOVE our volunteers.  We know that the heart of what we do can be seen in those who volunteer with our organization.

Available Positions

  • Web Design 

    Role:

    The Web Designer volunteer will be asked to maintain and update our website as needed.  Flow and presentation is important.  

    Why it's important:
    This role is important because our website is the face of our organization.  This is where survivors and partners come to learn more about what we do and how they can receive services. 

    Requirements:  

    As a volunteer, we request that you attend monthly meetings in order to be updated as to any changes that may occur within the month and any updates that are needed.  We also ask that you communicate your availability in terms of hours and other engagements that might affect a steady flow of communication.

    Qualifications Needed:
    Someone who understands graphic design, websites, optimization.  Proven history of web design and can commit to updating our website on a regular basis as needed. 

  • Community Outreach Coordinator

    Role:

    Our outreach volunteer is tasked with creating collaborations within the community and throughout the state.  They also work with local communities to bring support to local survivors. 

    Why it's important:
    This role is important because joining hands with communities allows us to reach those survivors experiencing abuse and provide the needed services.  It also allows us to join hands with businesses in our communities to make a greater impact.

    Requirements:  

    As a volunteer, we request that you attend monthly meetings (virtual)  in order to be updated as to any changes that may occur within the month and any updates that are needed.  We also ask that you communicate your availability in terms of hours and other engagements that might affect a steady flow of communication.

    Qualifications Needed:
    Someone with a communications/marketing background.  Someone who has the boldness and confidence to initiate relationships and conversations about Stand Up Survivor, or mission and goals. 

  • Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

    Role:

    This person works closely with the volunteer coordinator recruiting, retaining, interviewing, screening, and working with our volunteers. 

    Why it's important:
    Our volunteers are the heart of our organization and represent us well. It is important that this role is filled by someone who desires to see the success of the organizations, understands our mission and wishes to see domestic violence end. 

    Requirements:  

    As a volunteer, we request that you attend monthly meetings in order to be updated as to any changes that may occur within the month and any updates that are needed.  We also ask that you communicate your availability in terms of hours and other engagements that might affect a steady flow of communication.

    Qualifications Needed:
    This role requires someone who is hard-working, dedicated, and self-sufficient.  They must be a self-starter and willing to introduce themselves to people from all walks of life and work with them for the good of the organization.  Great people skills are a must for this position.  Must be proficient in word and excel

  • Social Media Assistant

    Role:

    The Instagram Administrator volunteer will be asked to maintain and update our Instagram Page with content related to domestic violence as well as related to updates about what SUS is doing.   

    Why it's important:
    Instagram is a way that we can reach the next generation of young people with domestic violence education and awareness.  

    Requirements:  

    As a volunteer, we request that you attend monthly meetings in order to be updated as to any changes that may occur within the month and any updates that are needed.  We also ask that you communicate your availability in terms of hours and other engagements that might affect a steady flow of communication.  Must be able to utilize Canva, Quotes Creator etc.

    Available to commit to 7-10 hours a week of volunteer hours.

    Qualifications Needed:

    An Associate’s degree in communications, graphic design, marketing or similar is preferred, but not required.  Must have at least 3+ years of online and social media experience.  Experience in a social media in a for-profit or non-profit setting is preferred.

  • Blog Content Creator

    Role:

    The Blog Writer Volunteers are responsible for creating content for our blog.  This should include updated information on Domestic Violence education and awareness, stories from survivors etc. 

    Why it's important:
    Our goal is to further education and awareness about domestic violence and blogging assists us in being able to do that. 

    Requirements:  

    As a volunteer, we request that you attend monthly meetings in order to be updated as to any changes that may occur within the month and any updates that are needed.  We also ask that you communicate your availability in terms of hours and other engagements that might affect a steady flow of communication.  Available to commit to 2-4 hours a week of volunteer hours.

    Qualifications Needed:

    Desired but not required a Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, creative writing, or related field is preferred. Someone with a history of previous writing or blogging is preferred. 

  • Social Media Manager

    Role:

    Our social media volunteer works very closely alongside our CEO to ensure that we are providing accurate and impacting information to those who we support. 

    Why it's important:
    Our goal is to further education and awareness about domestic violence and social media ensures that we are able to do that on a global scale. 

    Requirements:  

    As a volunteer, we request that you attend monthly meetings in order to be updated as to any changes that may occur within the month and any updates that are needed.  We also ask that you communicate your availability in terms of hours and other engagements that might affect a steady flow of communication.  Available to commit to 5-10 hours a week of volunteer hours.
